Don Turner became the associate pastor of worship and discipleship at FBC Kentwood in November of 2016. A student of music his entire life, studying under several musical and vocal directors over the years, his passion for music and proficiency with upper brass and stringed instruments, allowed him to serve in a variety of environments from marching band, concert band, choir, and stage band beginning early childhood and continued throughout college and beyond.
Don grew up in Kentwood and surrendered to the ministry in 2010. He has served on the worship team as a vocalist and guitarist at FBC Kentwood, where he also served as worship leader to the youth. He has served in this role on various international mission trips, as well as retreats, revivals and other associational worship services.
Currently, Don is enrolled in Leavell College of New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary’s Church Leadership Certificate Program pursuing a Biblical Ministry Certificate.
His greatest joy as a worship pastor is combining the unchanging truth of scripture with the power of prayer and the universal language of music, that all may be united in one Spirit, to the praise and glory of God the Father.
